The Department of Surgery at The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a dynamic, innovative Cardiothoracic Surgeon who has the leadership and vision to build state-of-the-art clinical and research programs.

The successful applicant will have a dyad leadership position in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support for the UW system in collaboration with a partner from Cardiovascular Medicine. Close collaboration with cardiology in multidisciplinary heart failure program building is expected. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with and provide mentorship to colleagues and trainees of the Section of Adult Cardiac Surgery within the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

The Department of Surgery consists of more than 150 faculty across eleven specialty divisions, performing more than 25,000 operations annually. The Department also trains more than 70 residents and fellows and is consistently ranked amongst the top surgery programs with extramural research funding.
